The Team

Lisa Cooper
Lisa Cooper has spent three decades in education, working closely with learners from middle school through college—often those who don’t fit neatly into boxes. Her experience spans classroom teaching, targeted intervention, and specialization in twice-exceptional students. As both an educator and a parent of children with diverse learning profiles, she brings clarity, creativity, and a deep commitment to making school make sense. Most recently at the University of Colorado Boulder, Lisa served as a professional academic coach and designed a for-credit course on academic success skills. Created for students struggling with executive function, it blended cognitive science with real-world strategy—helping students understand their minds and meet the demands of higher education. Her curiosity about how people learn—and why they sometimes don’t—remains ever-evolving.
Lisa thrives in human-centered spaces: thoughtful conversation, live music, long hikes, and deep research rabbit holes. She’s a dog lover, an unhurried traveler, and someone who reads instruction manuals for fun. She finds purpose in meaningful work with students and families—and energy in the outdoors, the arts, and good questions.

Kate Alagna
Kate Alagna has been passionate about educating children and parents for 25 years. Her teaching spans from elementary to middle school, from charter, private, and public schools, and from California to Colorado. She has led classrooms, gravitated to intervention and enrichment, and went back for a Masters. Kate has her own humans that are both neurotypical and neurodiverse, and she opened a tutoring business that serves all. She finds working with kids and families, while creating the best versions of both, completely fascinating and worthwhile.
Kate is a happy workhorse that loves being busy and struggles to nap. When not working, she is happiest while swimming, biking, running, reading, cooking, eating, thinking, and making to-do lists. She loves documentaries and understanding what makes other people tick. Her Shepherd mix, Harley, is the best and weirdest dog ever. She hates doing laundry and opening mail.
